The band's annual gala concert held at the Princes Hall in Aldershot was a great success. Only the second concert conducted by the band's new Musical Director, Phil Lazenbury, the audience were taken on a journey of old and new, with music such as "Mission Impossible", "The Symphonic Gershwin", and "Moorside March".
Special guests for this year were the "Frohsinn Brass Band" from Rushmoors twin town of Oberursel. This lively and entertaining German band returned to Aldershot by popular demand, after playing at last year’s Victoria Day celebrations. They entertained the audience in their own unique style, and joined with the Rushmoor Band for the finale, which had people tapping their toes and dancing in the aisles!
This concert also featured a percussion solo "Timpat" performed by one of our younger members, Katie Tyler on the Timpani. The Rushmoor band fiinished their part of the concert with "Fanfare for a Common Man" arranged by local composer and musician David Smart, before joining with the Frohsinn band for the grand finale.
