| On 9th March, the band performed their Spring concert at the Camberley Theatre. This Concert was the first under our new musical director, Phil Lazenbury. Phil had just three weeks to perpare the band for this concert, and did a fantastic job! The band played a full and busy programme with pieces from the classics, including "Procession of the Nobles" and "Candide" together with favourites from the musicals, such as "Oliver" and "Miss Saigon" and "Lord of the Dance". There was a feature for the woodwind section of the band, who played "Waggery for Woodwind".
Special guests were the Farnham Junior Girls Choir, under direction of catherine Watts. They sang a varied selection of songs, including "Witch" by Gordon M Fleming and "Pass it Along" by Linda S Spavecek.
The concert ended on a high with "Finlandia". |
